SOG - "Save Our Greenbelt" is a campaign set up to help save Eccleston's Greenbelt.
Eccleston is built upon green fertile rolling hills with countryside to the north and west and urban sprawl to south and east; all this may be destroyed forever as St. Helens make proposels to build on it.

I honestly never thought this would gain so much ground but looking at these numbers feels like the ground is finally shifting beneath the council offices. People who have lived here for decades are chiming in and it makes me feel like maybe we actually have a shot at keeping those hills green instead of paved over with more gray blocks.

Plenty of empty properties and brown sites to build on. Hands of the Green Belt we need it.
There is enough brownbelt to build on. Leave the greenbelt alone. Soon every bit of available land will be built on to satisfy the greed of developers. Wildlife will disappear, crops etc. Upset the equilibrium and there will be a cost. We see this now in our weather and the amount of floods in this country over the past years. Wake up and smell the coffee.
I wrote a letter of concern and met the deadline - it looks like the council are not even considering listening to the St Helens people - let's hope this petition makes a difference. (Rainford Resident)
We will need the land to grow our own crops so that we will not be so independent when we leave the EU
It's disgraceful what st.Helens council are doing to our green belt ....member of residents against florida farm....

Plenty of derelict land around St. Helens. Use this first and then think again. Scrap the inept local plan also.
