Newcastle City Council and Greenwich Hospital think we will just roll over and let them pave over our greenbelt. We need to hit 250 signatures immediately to show them that this community refuses to be ignored.

In addition to erosion of a valuable green belt, would this not be a loss of valuable agricultural land? Surely there is more than sufficient brownfield sites to accommodate housing needs.
I am so disappointed and appalled in this shameful decision to build on UNESCO sites. They should be protected for future generations. Not every village in the north east has Hadrians wall running through it. Keep us a village please.
It's so depressing to think about. We need to keep the green land for the views and peace they create as they offer the chance for use to appreciate the natural beauty of our landscape. Even if it is just for a few fleeting moments on the way home, back from the stress and bustle of the city, it's something a price cannot be put on.
Will the bridal path between Drove road and the back of the brickworks remain? Are there enough school places? Obviously none of the planners or council employees who voted for these houses live in Throckley. I am not happy at all. Could you please forward all the names of those who voted to allow all these houses to be built.
This development is neither wanted nor needed here. There is no justification for ruining the greenbelt. Do they honestly believe that this 'plot B' road will prevent people using Drove road for access? How stupid can you be! It would spoil the lane forever for residents, walkers, horse riders, cyclists and wildlife.
Keep up the good work.

Why build on Green Belt land? Newcastle Council have starved Throckely of any leisure facilities for too long. How does bringing in 550 new homes, with the potential for a further 550 homes, help this scenario? Throckley's roads are busy enough.... should I go on?
