It makes no sense for narrow windy country lanes to be national speed limit there are far more blind bends and the main roads are so busy now more and more drivers and racing cyclists are using them and NOT with any consideration for for anyone in their way

Reducing speed limits could save lives, and reduce accidents. The higher the speed, the greater the damage, please reduce speed limits with immediate effect.

Drivers need to have more respect for vulnerable road users

Definitely a worthwhile petition, road safety while riding is so important. I have to use the roads when I exercise my horses. I have no other choice.

The speed limit on every country road should be drastically reduced.

I have lived in Smallwood all of my life, and when I was younger around 13-14 years old I could ride my horse all around the country lanes with no worries what so ever. Unfortunately in recent years this has drastically changed. I've had two close calls with drivers using it as a rat-run and going extremely fast. I'm lucky to have a very well behaved horse on the roads, but it's getting to the point that these drivers are so unaware of you being there that it doesn't matter if you're wearing Hi-Viz or have a well behaved horse. Not only this but even on foot, walking the dog doesn't seem to be that safe anymore. I now try and avoid the main road as much as possible. Something seriously needs to be done about controlling not only the traffic levels going through the village but also the speed that some of these drivers are going at.

We live just off the main road through Smallwood and constantly witness drivers doing over 60 mph past the church and road down to the school - we need a 30mph restriction on that part of the road due to safety

We have been trying to get some sort of slow down through the village now for about 35 years? Does someone have to be killed before anything happens?

Traffic on the side roads and main a50 through the parish is habitually going too fast. Cheshire east either needs to enforce safe driving by requesting police presence on all roads or impose a speed limit less than the national speed of 60mph

I feel I am risking my life every time I pull out of Pools Lane into Congleton Road. Its a difficult enough junction to use due to poor visability but when you add in the speed of drivers taking advantage of the only bit of straight road.... it is truly frightening.....

Before someone gets hurt we need proper speed limits through the village. 20 is plenty.
