Walking dogs off lead in Shepherdess Park has recently been banned without any consultation. Dog walking is the main activity in the park and creates connections and community and a safe and well used park. Well exercised dogs are happier and calmer. Responsible dog owners are keen to work with the Council to minimise problems such as dog mess. We ask the Council to discuss this with us and to end the ban on walking off lead.
Hello there, the whole point of a dog park is to let dogs have freedom and the flexibility they desire when socialising with other dogs. This also brings their owners closer together with other members of the community. I feel the vast majority of dog owners are very responsible. I hope you can understand that it is unfair to punish the whole community over the careless actions of a few.
