Please sing against the dog control orders introduced by Brent council! Limiting the number of dogs walked by a single person to six: We are proposing limiting the number of dogs walked by a single person to six at any one time, these are the current guidelines agreed by both DEFRA and the Kennel Club. Multiple dog walking has become an issue over the past two years at certain of our parks and open spaces with some professional dog walkers, walking in excess of 12 dogs at a time Dogs to be kept on a lead: There are certain areas in Brent which are more sensitive for their users and in these areas we ask that dogs are under closer control by being on a lead. These areas include sports areas, some of our smaller/pocket parks, and 3 areas of high amenity value. The pocket parks in question are the smallest parks within the borough and range from approximately 5 sqm to about 400 sqm which we believe makes them unsuitable/impracticable for off lead walking . The areas of high amenity value include the bedding areas in 3 of our Green Flag parks (the rest of the areas within those parks are available for both ‘off’ and ‘on’ lead walking). This will not affect the great majority of our Parks where walking off lead will still be allowed. See dog control order map for further detail Exclusion of dogs: Dogs would be excluded from all children’s playgrounds, bowling greens and tennis court. All of the sites that have playgrounds, bowling greens and tennis courts are contained in larger open spaces where the walking of dogs both ‘on’ and ‘off lead’ will remain permissible.

I have been reading your messages about how these restrictions will change your daily walks with your dogs. It is clear that many of you feel these rules are a step in the wrong direction for our local parks. I am currently compiling your experiences to present to the council so they understand the real impact of these changes.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that so many of you share my love for our neighborhood dogs and the freedom they deserve. I started this because my own dogs are my life and I know how much these spaces mean to people like us. This energy gives me so much hope for the steps ahead.

my dog needs to run off lead to be happy. restricting where we can go just makes the parks even more crowded which is the opposite of what they want.

LEAVE THE DOG OWNERS ALONE. Brent has better things to spend their time on than ruining our walks.

This is ridiculous. 6 dogs is plenty for one person to handle safely. Why is the council trying to make everything harder for us?
