It's a shame that it has come to council staff spending time on foot issuing fines to the good doing part of the community. Our council tax should be allocated to more productive matters like anti social behaviour and rubbish collection rather than ostrisizing a local community who care for the park and use it all year round. There is no evidence of dangerous dogs, we are responsible dog owners - i don't feel the council's response warrants this one person's fictitious complaint.

Freedom for our dogs to socialise

This park is loved by so many wonderful dog lovers and their hounds. Let them roam free responsibly. To the miserable man who keeps shouting at me and Cookie for just having off-lead fun, bore off! Your poor dogs look so unhappy. My heart breaks for them.

Hello there, the whole point of a dog park is to let dogs have freedom and the flexibility they desire when socialising with other dogs. This also brings their owners closer together with other members of the community. I feel the vast majority of dog owners are very responsible. I hope you can understand that it is unfair to punish the whole community over the careless actions of a few.

Dog parks form an integral part to communities, and given most dog owners demonstrate responsibility with regards to controlling dogs off leash parks are safe for the community.

Provide poo bags and a poo bin and encourage people to do the right thing instead of being a 'nanny state' and ruin the fun for everyone! Embrace your culture and community instead of banning it.

Our dog community is a happy community and we are responsible dog owners who keep our dogs under control and clean up. Our dogs neednto be able to run and be free not kept locked up.

I support this initiative but would also mention that although most owners are very responsible in picking up after their dogs, dog mess lurks. A polite reminder to the few offenders would reinforce our case.

This park has been a safe and controlled dog walking area since i've moved here 5 years ago, and I have never witnessed any problems with dogs off the lead. To now enforce dogs on leads feels unfair to respectful dog owners and their dogs

We have made so many new friends since getting our dog, and going to Shepherdess Park, in March. The park is a great space for the dogs to run around together - while also respecting other families with children. It would be a terrible shame to restrict them to leads.

It was unreasonable to have introduced this ban without consultation with local people. They need an opportunity to voice their concerns.

Please re-look at the ban.

dog owners are the most responible users of the park, we clean up after everyone else when they leave, fireworks, food, wrappers and everything in between, we keep the park clean!

it would be s huge loss for the dogs and the local community's for this ban to continue.
