The city council confirmed that Scott Steer is our new police chief. We held our ground and pushed for the candidate who actually earns our trust. Keep a close eye on the department to ensure this new leadership keeps their promises to our community.
The momentum behind Scott Steer shows the city council that our community will not be ignored. Post the petition link to your Facebook page right now and text three friends to keep this pressure building.

We are approaching one hundred signatures and the council cannot ignore a group this size. Text three neighbors right now and tell them to add their names to this list.

Scott Steer is very involved in the community and knows the communities needs. I have worked with Scott in several volunteer organizations. He is well respected and sincere. I live in rural Hawley but endorse and support his application for the position.

Scott has been a devoted person in your town. He was a former police chief in a nearby town until he came to Hawley. He is very respected and has even filled in as interm police chief. Makes no sense why you would not let him stay police chief if he is doing a good job.

Why go on a country wide search when we have a fully qualified person here in our midst that knows the community and CARES about the community as he is a part of it, and does not need to acclimate himself to the area.

He is from here, lives here, knows the area and knows the people. He is qualified to perform the chief duties now, so why long term? He may not have the longest resume, but he is qualified and competent and Chief Macon recommended him. He deserves a chance to prove himself.

If he's been good enough to be interim chief not once, but twice, he's obviously qualified for this position. He's respected by the community, knows the community, and was reccomended by the former chief of police. Quit with the BS and give him the position.

There is no one more qualified or more prepared to be Police Chief in hawley. Scott has a large part of the city behind him as well as some pretty strong words and recommendations from people the city respects such as Chief Jimmy. For Scott to not receive this position will be a slap in the face to the Hawley citizens.

why should we hire someone from outside of the community when we have someone who is qualified within.
