The Castle Ridge subdivision in Southaven MS is planning to construct a gate that will close off access to a public street. They plan to block off Courtyard Dr at the Davis Rd intersection. This is the route that connects to College Rd. This is a very common route used by the neighborhoods to the East and is the direct route to the hospital. This will drastically effect the Lakes of Nicholas, Dicken's Place, and Cherry Tree Park neighborhoods, but should be a concern to all Southaven residents.
They plan to close the gates 12 hours per day, which will also allow them to keep city paid street maintenance. Why should the rest of the citizens pay for this when they can't use the road?? Why should they be allowed to block a city street that will slow down emergency personnel from reaching citizens in need??

Use that route to quickly get to exit to 55, to take 3year grandson to St. Judes. If my tax dollars are still mainting the roads, then I want to use it anytime I want to. VOTE-NO
We feel putting a gate up will inconvenience many of the surrounding neighborhoods to include is ours. They could easily put up speed bumps which are cheaper and work around the clock.
I oppoose this gate. I live on Dickens Place Drive and have the same issues but know this is the reality of our subdivisions being open to each other. If the City are the ones that opened College at Dickens Place Drive then they should not allow one subdivison out of 4 to block traffic flow.
Resident of Cherry Tree Park who can no longer exit the main entrance of my neighborhood thanks to the new stoplight at College and Getwell. I am forced to go through the rear entrance of my neighborhood to get to College, Davis, and eventually Church Road to head west to get to work each day. A gate for Castle Ridge would completely eliminate our access to Davis Road.
NO TO THE GATE! I pay taxes to maintain those roads. Castle Ridge would be mooching off the government by restricting access. No one likes that kind anti-liberty garbage. Another thing: other communities need multiple, additional and alternate routes. Kevin Davis, Lakes of Nicholas.

As a nurse who does go on call I need the fastest route possible to get to work in case of emergency.
