We’re collecting signatures to prevent the use of Whitehall Drive as a thoroughfare for the planned development of 174 attached single-story villas, a 50-unit memory care facility, a 12,600-square feet retail building and 11,400-square-foot office building on an undeveloped agricultural site known as Rasp Farm. This massive change will impact us all with the increased traffic of people cutting through the neighborhood as a shortcut, safety concerns for pedestrian traffic, potential influx of children to Laverna Evans, etc as Whitehall becomes the traffic relief for the already congested traffic conditions on Lincoln Ave. Currently the developer does not want or require the use of Whitehall Drive, the Chief Safety Officer of O’Fallon does not require the use of Whitehall Drive for emergency response, and the residents are not in support of dividing the neighborhood via Whitehall Drive

The question you have to ask: why does the city and Mayor Roach want this so badly? Progress is essential for our community but not at the expense of our safety and our children’s safety

The momentum behind this petition highlights how many of us prioritize the safety of our streets over reckless development. It is encouraging to see our neighborhood unite so effectively to protect the integrity of the Southview community.

Keep Whitehall residential. We moved here for the quiet streets not to have a highway running through our front yards.

Ridiculous idea. My kids walk to school every day and this would make it so dangerous. Stop putting profit before our families.

WAY too much traffic for such a small neighborhood. Why arent they upgrading the actual main roads instead of ruining ours.

I live at 106 Whitehall Dr, And the traffic currently is awful as people use our street as a cut through and often have children playing in my front yard

We deserve better than gutting our neighborhood, our kids deserve better than dodging cars. And we deserve aldermen who will actually listen to our concerns and support us
