We, the alumni of Dunbar Vocational Career Academy High School (DVCA), located at 3000 South King Drive, Chicago, IL  60616, hereby submit this petition in order to force the Chicago Board of Education from reorganizing this vocational high school to a general high school.  In addition, we are fighting to force the Chicago Board of Education to reinstate the business and technical shops that have already been discontinued.  As we know everyone may not want to or be able to attend a college or a university.  Therefore, we feel it is imperative that our children are given an opportunity to receive a quality education in the trade of their choice.  Studies show that because of the decrease in vocational training programs there are a large number of job opportunities without skilled workers.  We demand that our children are educated and/or trained in order to give them an opportunity to be able to provide for and take care of themselves.  Would you please join us in this fight?  Thank you!!!!!!

Sincerely,

The Alumni of Dunbar Vocational Career Academy

The momentum behind this effort reflects our collective commitment to restoring the technical training our students deserve. We are nearing a significant milestone that will strengthen our position when we approach the Board of Education. Please reach out to three people in your network today so we can reach this target before the upcoming public hearing.
