The York County Commissioners refuse to explore ways to maintain the County owned nursing home. They would rather sell it to a “For-Profit” company, which have been proven to provide lower quality care to residents. The County Commissioners support an elaborate prison system costing tax payers 10’s of millions of dollars to maintain, while the County nursing home has a per tax payer annual burden that is less than a meal out. Lastly, the Commissioners refuse to listen to the public outcry. Recent meetings have shown many county residents want to KEEP this resource as a COUNTY resource and find ways to reduce County Taxes by looking into other more burdensome departments.
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens of York County who urge and demand our Commissioners to act now to keep the York Country Nursing Home (Pleasant Acres), county owned, not sell it; and in turn to look for ways to reduce the operating costs, generate additional revenue to offset existing costs, and to provide the focus and attention to allow the nursing home to continue operations.

keep pleasant acres public. this is ridiculous.
STOP SELLING OFF OUR ASSETS.
Absolute shame that they have the money for a new jail but want to cut corners on the elderly. Fix the budget elsewhere!!
My mother was here for three years and they treated her like family. You cant replace that kind of care with some corporate bottom line.
