Preserve our neighborhood and the county farm!

The county has received 6 proposals for the county farm property.

Your neighbors are concerned about 3 of them that include plans for: intermediate housing, a place for drug recovery, or housing for the homeless. The Grace Manor proposal specifically outlines plans to build a community center (via the possible demolition of the woods) as well as the construction of tiny homes to serve as intermediate housing.

We encourage you to read these proposals for yourselves at:

https://washingtoncountytn.org/AgendaCenter/ViewFi...

**By signing this petition, you are expressing your concern at the possibility of using the county farm for intermediate housing, drug recovery, or housing for the homeless.

We believe these populations would be better served in town, closer to jobs, grocery stores, public transit, and medical services. **

The county is holding a meeting to hear from the public, have all the proposals presented publicly and to vote. Please attend if you can on February 29th at 4:00pm. This meeting will be held at the Storytelling Center in Jonesborough.

Please sign this petition to show your concern for these issues! We will present this proposal to the committee on February 29th.

Keep our neighborhood safe and clean and our property values secure. We do not want intermediate housing, homeless shelter or a drug recovery facility in our area - or the extra traffic they will add to our already overcrowding area.

I think homeless shelters and low income housing and rehabs and a great thing but the old JMS school or different unused buildings should be used and not take more land away. There are plenty of buildings that can be used.

Mockingbird Place is a wonderful neighborhood full of families and persons that take pride in their homes and their community. We urge you to consider what is best for our community, the persons you were elected to represent.

Why can the property not just be a park ? Low impact, inexpensive, available to all county citizens. We are a quiet residential community with children everywhere. Leave the homeless in Johnson City where social services are close by and there is lots of law enforcement supervision.

There are better places for building places for homeless. We need to keep as much land as we can in the natural setting, especially with all of the people moving here. Soon it will become another cement metropolis with all of the beautiful area gone.

Neither a drug rehab or intermediate housing for homeless are suitable uses for this particular location... those are pressing needs and require access to ancillary services to be effective

I want nothing that develops the property other than nature. Trails with what is already there.

Too close to many young families for drug rehab. Please keep our community safe.
