The transport board just confirmed the cuts are canceled and our original routes will stay exactly as they are. I am drained from this fight but the relief is immense. Keep an eye on the service schedules because we have to ensure they actually follow through on this promise.
We the undersigned call on Reading Transport to cancel its proposed shortening of the 63 and 64 Woodley circular bus services with immediate effect.
These bus routes provide a vital service to local residents and many elderly people will be left without any means of transport.
The Proposal:

The Woodley circuit is being cut so that it will only run from Whitegates – Woodlands Avenue – Fairwater Drive – Nightingale Road – Crockhamwell Road – Loddon Bridge Road – Headley Road roundabout – Headley Road – Beechwood Avenue – Howth Drive – Shepherds Hill top. Thus it will no longer serve Colemansmoor Road, Woodley Airfield or the Glendevon Road area at all.
NOTE As this is a free petition site there is a donation request after you sign the petition please ignore, this does not go to this campaign, and we are not asking for any donations.
Reaching this point has been exhausting but seeing the support coming in gives me enough resolve to keep pushing forward. I am not stopping now because too many people rely on these routes to get through their daily lives.

Keep the route as it is! The elderly people round here rely on these buses to get out of the house. Don't cut them off.

WOODLEY NEEDS THESE BUSES. Stop trying to scrimp on the areas that actually use the service. Total joke.

64 bus is the only way I get to work. If this happens I am screwed.

My mum lives on Glendevon Rd and literally cant walk to the new stop. How is she supposed to get her shopping now? This is ridiculous.

So many people depend on this service to get to the doctors and the shops. Please rethink this plan.
