Removing the conservation easement is in violation of the WEST COG agenda. Norwalk does not have enough green space to protect wildlife and the waterways. Additional disturbance of waterways by creating and additional road and rock salt will only damage our water and the environment.
As a Norwalk resident with family living at the East Norwalk Avalon who regularly use the open space walking path there, I oppose the proposed modification to the Conservation Easement.
The developer has no regard for safety of the occupants and wants to get as many units as he can in a residential zone. He wants to take parking off the street so he can widen it. That puts a burden for the home owners that do not have a garage or a driveway. No where for the existing home owners to park.
Norwalk Zoning Commission should reject this application to change to the Norden Place walking path and Conservation easement. The City of Norwalk and its taxpayers have no obligation to developers to facilitate their work and optimize their profits.
City Zoning commissions need to honor the established zoning and not make these types of changes. Neighbors in the area purchased property understanding the land was protected. Changing that now to benefit a developers interests is plan wrong.

I agree. The easement agreement was signed by all pertinent parties after much study and thought. Wetlands are a very important part of the water cycle and due to climate change, are essential to protect for their water retention function, especially during drought.
