Norden Open Space - Norwalk residents

Enough is enough !!!

Removing the conservation easement is in violation of the WEST COG agenda. Norwalk does not have enough green space to protect wildlife and the waterways. Additional disturbance of waterways by creating and additional road and rock salt will only damage our water and the environment.

we don't need any more apts. as it is in norwalk. Take a drive - more appts. than people practically in Norwalk.

East Norwalk is way to crowded and I hope the factory outlet does not allow all those apt going in.

I oppose changing the easement to allow for vehicular traffic including emergency vehicle services for the proposed development.

With the huge increase in apartments the sanctity of our wetlands his becoming vital. To infringe on our wetland for the purpose of building more apartments is foolhardy.

Norwalk is no place for this kind of development that endangers not only the residents but nature itself!! There are WAY too many apts in Norwalk as it is!

Multi-story, multi-unit bed and breakfasts HAVE NO PLACE in East Norwalk.

This town has already seen enough unnecessary development....enough is enough.. Too many apartments as it is already.

John, no one is trying to block affordable rentals. They are trying to block oversized development in an established, sinfle family residential neighborhood. As to easement, have you seen the plans? I have, and I have visited the actual site. No doubt the area will be impacted, negatively. The short- and long-term impact on the wildlife there will be awful. And where the retaining wall is proposed? Probably impede usual routes for passage of deer and smaller creatures. Agreed more affordable housing is needed. And, yes, Norwalk "welcomes". Perhaps soon even right up there in Cranbury section!

No more apts.

Do not change or alter the easement! This has nothing to do with "affordable housing" being restricted in Westport. That's a ploy to manipulate the general public. The developer negotiated and agreed to the easement when he wanted to get his approvals to build out the initial apartment building and commercial uses at Norden. He AGREED to its restrictions so he could get his initial development done fully knowing that he would eventually work on Norwalk & Westport city halls to get the restrictions changed/lifted so he could eventually build more MARKET rate apartments.

I live near Norden Place and strongly oppose the development.

Vote NO to the modification of the conservation easement to allow an out of town developer profit from Norwalk’s preserved open space.

I live in Norwalk. I am appalled at the effort by Westport residents, and Westport officials, both elected and appointed, to block the entry of rental, and affordable housing in their town. Modifying the existing conservation easement as requested by this developer will have zero effect on the conservation value of the protected land. Westport should follow Norwalk's example, and welcome affordable housing, rather than invent zoning barriers to prevent it.
