The employees of Lake EMS have provided high quality medical care and support to their community for decades.  The Lake County Board of County Commissioners now plans to outsource this vital service to the lowest bidder. 

The Board of County Commissioners recently paid an independent firm to extensively audit Lake EMS.  The audit revealed what the employees and citizens already knew; our organization is highly functioning and fiscally responsible.  Lake EMS is an award winning, not for profit service that achieves some of the highest cardiac arrest survival rates in the world. Our pre-hospital medical training and treatment is among the most advanced in the nation.

A privatized, outsourced agency would not only sacrifice this level of service in order to create a profit, but it would quite possibly put citizens at risk due to extended response times and basic-level medical care.  A privatized company focuses on the bottom line, not the patient’s outcome.  Although a high level of quality comes at a price, don’t you believe you and your fellow citizens deserve the best?  The employees of Lake EMS certainly do.
