Our goal is to preserve the recreational area here upstream to the Indian Dam on the Perkiomen Creek and to protect the habitat of a threatened species, the Bald Eagle. This stretch of water on the Perkiomen is enjoyed by many, for many generations, and would be a loss to the residents AND the community, should the dam be destroyed. We are looking at all possible angles to protect this dam. The dam is in jeopardy as a result of a movement to remove all dams along waterways in Pennsylvania. Please join us in saving this very unique recreational waterway that is created by the dam has and is accessible to all of us.

Updates

July 2, 2006

I have finalized a formal request for an environmental impact review regarding the proposed dam removal. This document will be delivered to the regional water authority by the end of the week to ensure our stance on habitat protection is officially recorded.

STOP MESSING WITH NATURE. This dam has been there forever and the creek is fine. Leave it alone.

This area is the only place close by where we can take the canoe out to relax. Please dont take away our access to the water.

Used to fish here with my dad as a kid. Really sad to think it might be gone soon. Save the dam.

Total waste of tax money to tear it out. If it isnt broken why fix it? Ridiculous.

I see the eagles every single morning. It is a beautiful spot and we really dont need to ruin the ecosystem just because of some new state plan.

My kids learned to swim here. Destroying the dam would ruin years of memories for so many families in this town. Keep it how it is.
