Hunt's Pond State Park is a small park in a quiet setting with 16 primitive campsites, a picnic area, and a boat launch site. The park does not have established trails, but adjacent Department of Environmental Conservation land is available for visitors to use for hiking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.
Due to New York State's fiscal crisis this facility will not be open for camping for the 2010 Season. Which ends in Park Closure.
There are small parks that many people don't know about which are so small compared to size and quality. Close those parks, not this one.
The state is ignoring the value of our quiet spaces but we are making them pay attention. Call your local representative today and tell them that Hunts Pond is not expendable. Post this link on your Facebook page and demand that they keep our parks open.

The momentum behind saving Hunt's Pond is undeniable and the state officials are starting to notice. Post this link on your Facebook wall today so we keep this pressure on the parks department.

My family has been going to this spot since i was a little kid. It would be a huge shame to see it closed down for good over money. Find the funds elsewhere.
