The Georgia State Board of Regents has proposed to make Waycross College a Satellite Campus to South Georgia College in Douglas. Reverend Fer-Rell M. Malone, Senior Pastor at Macedonia Baptist Church, and Reverend Alton Carter of Brunel Street Church of God have organized "The SAVE Waycross College Community Coalition" to help save the college. Mayor Clarence Billups of the City of Waycross states that "this will Devastate the College Here and the Local Economy." Mayor Clarence Billups, Chairman Jimmy Brown of the Ware County Commission, and State Representative Mark Hatfield are calling upon the local and area Community to RESPOND immediately reacting to a proposed Tuesday vote of the Board of Regents. We are aggressively petitioning the Board of Regents to Delay the VOTE that is PLANNED for January 10, 2012, and request that it be DELAYED until proper DUE DILIGENCE is completed and OUR COMMUNITY BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO RESPOND TO THE RECOMMENDED PLAN.
