The Polk County Monument was planned in as early as 1902. Money was raised by devoted citizens who wanted to honor the veterans of their county.. The monument was erected in 1906 and finally paid for in 1908. The process did not happen overnight. It took a lot of local help to complete the task. Now over a century later political correctness is trying to claim a valuable part of Polk County's history. Could you please help us by signing today? .

I love history no matter Our race Everyone faces struggles in their life. It doesn’t change history. If all is forgotten the struggles may happen again. The struggles I’ve had has helped Me to learn and make better decisions. God Bless America and please let what ever happened 200 years ago make America better and not full of hate.

that monument was raised by widows and sons and daughters who lost loved ones on both sides. Its a celebration of there sacrifice and needs to stand just as any other statue or monument

This is part of history and should remain whether to honor ancestors or remind us of where we come from and show us how we should move forward. Removal changes nothing that happened. Leave it!

This monument is not hurting anyone or anything. It represent all Confederate soldiers which included blacks also. I absolutely hate how history has got so clouded over the years.

Keep your Monument UP and I and many more will come spend our Tourist Dollars in your town. Take it down and we won't be back. Do the right thing. STAND for American History.

This is History for Polk County. It has been there a long time . I worked at the courthouse 36 years and never seen any one take a picture or ask about the Statute. Now it seems to offend someone so take it down or move it, just don't understand this.
