Communities In Schools provides critical support for our Taylor County school students during one of the most challenging stages of their lives. Removing this program would mean losing a trusted adult, access to resources, and early intervention that helps students stay connected to school and families to the community.
Losing this program would be devastating to our students who are most in need. We have enough issues getting support in this school district already. In no way, shape, or form do we need to cut funding to one of the few effective programs we have in place for our kids who are struggling.

My granddaughter is in Middle School. This program(Valerie Jones) helped so much with the transition from Elementary School.

I remember all of the times I would go into Jen’s office feeling lost or sad and she would always comfort me and give me the best advice, having someone in the school that would listen to my problems and walk me through them is what gets people through highschool, thank you Jennifer

I support CIS to the fullest in schools and believe that it is very important to stay. I myself am a CIS Coordinator and seen the impact it has on our students and families and the importance.

I think this program is one of the best in Taylor County schools. If it had not been for the Communities in School Program my son would've failed the 9th grade, but instead ended up with a full college scholarship, not to mention a better social experience the next three years of his high school education.
