We ask our Councillors and local MP to support parents and members of Shenfield Cricket Club in demanding that Brentwood Borough Council cease in their current course of action, which risks the future existence of Shenfield Cricket Club.

The Council should support this community hub and the opportunities it affords to local youngsters and adults in the area!

One thousand people have signed this and Brentwood Borough Council still refuses to listen to our demands. They are trying to bury this club but this number proves we are not going anywhere.

Councils need to support local community clubs, especially when the clubs are successful and self-financing. In this case it seems to me BBC have their eyes on the price of this site without thinking of the value of the club to the community.

I spent my childhood at this club and gained many great friends and enjoyed many great games. The council's action is reprehensible and is in no way thinking about the long term benefits that a club brings to their area, and just looking for short term moentary gains.

This is a valuable local asset for young and older generations and would be a same if these restrictions are imposed why does the council needed to medal with clubs these are a focal point of our community even the new Shenfield sign has the cricket club on it.

I have been a member of this club for over 16 years. I have grown up there and it has been a wonderful place for children of all ages to learn to play cricket. It has a wonderful social atmosphere where all are welcome. Do not let beurocracy ruin a community.

I watch the cricket every week in the summer and the thought of the car park being removed dissapoints me. The thought that my son will not be able to enjoy the sport I use to play, is concerning and it would be in the councils best interest to keep it.

Please reconsider your plans. Where do you want these kids to spend their evenings weekends ? Roaming the streets? This is a fantastic community where parents grandparents watch their children & grandchildren playing the sport they love.

As an ex player at Hainault & Clayhall who enjoyed many close games against you and fine hospitality I wish you all the best in your fight to continue offering an excellent and successful club for the children in your area
