As an ex player at Hainault & Clayhall who enjoyed many close games against you and fine hospitality I wish you all the best in your fight to continue offering an excellent and successful club for the children in your area

Another sad day for grass-roots cricket and the local sports community in general with council busybodies clearly not thinking about the potential repercussions this will have in the long-term. Stop this at once BCC, you should be ashamed of yourselves!

Just because the accountants cannot value the unseen benefits of belonging to a community club ( across all demographics, genders, race and religion), it doesn’t mean those benefits do not exist.
Do not consider selling the land.

Local cricket has enough issues trying to save the game without this nonsense!
I have played at Shenfield many times and had some great games over there, whether it be defeat or a victory.
Save Shenfield CC !!!!!!

I have umpired at this wonderful ground many times, i've enjoyed every game there plus the hospitality shown to all. Brentwood needs this type of club, for all to enjoy. The councillors should be ashamed of themselves if this goes ahead.Shame on you Brentwood council trying to take yet another sporting venue.

Importance of local sporting facilities cannot be overstated. Another example of local councillors being completely out of touch with the real needs of the community.

I am very grateful for the time I spent playing for Shenfield.
It's deflating that such a wonderful cricket club should be under attack by a couple of councillors who would appear to be totally out of step with the broader community.
Support Shenfield Cricket Club !

Too many sporting facilities are being lost and we can ill afford to loose any more cricket grounds.Where do those people go to play. I would be amazed if there was an alternative pitch. Even so the loss would impact on the family atmosphere that is part of all cricket clubs

With obesity and anti-social behaviour both on the rise why would anyone risk taking away something which teaches discipline and provides the youth of the area with a great source of exercise

With all that is bad in the news about youth behaviour, why remove something that teaches respect, team spirit and promotes health and exercise. This would be a sad loss to the younger population and to the community.

My father played for Shenfield in the 1930's and 40's. I played for the club in the 50's and 60's. Some of my fondest memories are from those days. Please keep the club intact for the sake of Shenfield youth and adults.

I would urge the Council to reconsider these measures. It is so important for our community to have sporting facilities available open to all and any measure that prejudices such facilities should be considered very carefully. The mental and physical well being of sport is well known, so too is the benefit to the community. Please do not risk losing these benefits.
Please leave the club alone
