the council just voted to deny the rezoning request and the ridge is officially safe. i am honestly still in shock that we pulled this off but thank you all for keeping the pressure on. keep an eye on the local meetings just in case they decide to try this …

Triple Crown Corporation has petitioned Lower Paxton Township to rezone Blue Ridge Golf Course from Agricultural to Commerical/Residential allowing more homes/shops to be built along Linglestown Road. This will increase an already congested Linglestown Road, more cars and more people in our small, quaint community. SAVE THE RIDGE!!!! Sign the petition to keep our community green!!

The infrastructure, particularly as it applies Linglestown Road, is incapable of supporting a significant increase in traffic volume. This an ill advised use of this land. Please reconsider.

There is too much traffic on Linglestown Road already, and there have already been too many green spaces replaced with asphalt, concrete and housing in this zip code! Less corporate greed, more sustainable development projects, please!

Build a small eco friendly skate park or an organic burial hiking trail. Lease garden space. These projects can generate revenue with out major disruption to habitats and will limit traffic.

There is already a massive Vartan development going in at the corner of N Progress and Linglestown Rd, the LAST thing we need is even MORE people being stuffed into the Linglestown Rd corridor. Traffic is ridiculous on Linglestown Rd as is. DO NOT DO THIS TO US PLEASE.

Keep it Agriculture Zoned. We do not need any more development. Lower Paxton should buy and run it as public golf course with restaurant and banquette facilities. Run correctly would be a great source of revenue.

Like the town needs more housing developments. Keep arguably the best course in the area and one that is a Harrisburg landmark. I personally played the course for 25 years.... And I'm only 31!

Casey you are exactly right. This proposed senior community is a way better use of the land than what could currently be done and definitely better than a private golf course. Lower Paxton is an aging community and needs options for the seniors. According to what was discussed at the township meeting all of the units will have visit-ability features like wider door ways, no step entrances, grab bars, etc. that will allow people to stay in their homes as long as they'd like instead of having to be institutionalized to stay within the community.

I have read many of the comments on here and Nextdoor Linglestown. I work with ordinances in my job all the time and what many people do not understand is that Blue Ridge is currently zoned AR (Agricultural Residential). This means that pending plan approval, the developed could build 266 single family houses on this property as it is currently zoned. What they are proposing is to create an age restricted development which would actually alleviate traffic issues as opposed to how the property is currently zoned....
