In an effort to continue to improve the City of Rocklin's wonderful golf and banquet facility, Rocklin Golf Club has proposed plans to develop small unused parcels of golf course space for the benefit of our community.
From the ownership of the golf course to our fellow golfers and neighbors, this is a golf course preservation project.
The family-run business that operates Rocklin Golf Club has been an integral part of the community for many years, and plans on remaining a part of the community for many more years to come.
Rocklin Golf Club / Residential Development Information:
-Proposed donation of 1.8 acres of beautiful open space to the City of Rocklin-Provides a means to preserve the neighborhood's championship golf course
-Preserves and promotes neighborhood real estate values
-Continues banquet facility access for community
-Provides access for middle school and high school golf programs and after school activities
-Offers site for local charity fundraisers and events
-Protects one of the most beautiful open spaces in the area

Even though I don't live in Rocklin anymore, I grew up down the street from the course and still play it to this day. I would also be happy to support, but this is so vague. What exactly would I be signing? A little clarification would be appreciated. Thank you
Sounds Good!. A large group of us from Lincoln like to play your Golf Course (and Morgan Creek too), but what is the concern withthe City of rocklin? Youare offerring to "give 1.8 acres" to Rockin as Open Space, but waht is being asked in return? I'd be happy to support your Petition, if I knew ALL the "Pros & Cons" to the issue. I attended the Rocklin Golf course's presentation/pitch on this subject a couple weeks ago. Mr. Gibson would make NO commitment that further development of residential spaces would be agreed upon. Several good commentaries presented by the Auburn Journal, updates the public in Rocklin on this issue. I recommend that you get both sides information before signing one of the two petitions out there. One is for development and one is to maintain the current open spaces and is presented by the Friends of Open Space in Rocklin. There are many Rocklin residences around the golf course that are concerned that this initial building will lead to total development of residences of this golf course. It is extremely important to get both sides of this issue. You can request to get on the Open Space email update by request at [email protected].
I have been a member at Rocklin for the last 12 years and have gone thru 4 different owners. The current owner, Charles Gibson, has done more for the course than the previous three owners. He has repaired the cart paths; put sand in the traps (it was dirt clods for years); maintained the irrigation system; and has softened the course to make it more favorable for public play to increase revenue. The course has lost money for years. The aging infrastructure of the course has been a continual money drain for the owner and he needs to sell a small portion of the property (3%) to get a return on his investment plus create a fund he can use to improve the property without a drain on it's profitability. For example, he is needs to re-roof the entire 12,000 sq ft facility in the coming year which will be a major expenditure. At this time, he is willing to make the investment to keep the facility open; however, I believe that if we do not support his proposal he will close the course and let the course go to "open space". Not only will that decrease home values in the area, it will be a loss of revenue for the City of Rocklin.

My kids play varsity golf and use this course all the time. Please dont let them build houses on our greens. We need this space to stay open for the local schools!!
