We are a concerned group of citizens who want our township to uphold the law. Our township motto is "Warrington Township, Gateway to Historic Bucks County". We have many new residential developments right now that have already been approved. However, we have one now that is in the rezoning hearing process. The proposed property is currently zoned RA (residential, agricultural) which as per the current law can have one home per three acres. The developer and applicant are asking for a rezoning change to RA 2. This would allow four to five homes per acre. The outcome of this hearing will most likely have a drastic effect on future developments. This could lead to high density development on rural lots throughout the entire township. This proposed change is definetly not consistent with the motto "Gateway to Historic Bucks County". This change will also have a long lasting financial burden on the township and its taxes to the residents. The ripple effect goes on and on from road improvements needed, the increase classroom sizes , larger fire and police forces, as well as water and sewer improvements. If you are also a concerned resident of Warrington Township and are against high density rezoning please sign this petition as it will be forwarded to the board of supervisors.
We moved to the Warrington side of Chalfont last year for the school district and open space and am starting to regret this decision after seeing all the recent housing developments, congestion, traffic, etc. Building is out of control and needs to stop before there is no open space left :(
