Hello to all you who can make a difference -
It has recently been made public that Mr. Horne has been told by Alpine School District that he has to move to another school within the district.  The other school is in need of a more experienced Special Ed teacher. Although we are sensitive to the other school’s needs, we feel compelled to let the Alpine School know of our need to keep Mr. Horne at Rocky Mountain.
Mr. Horne is a tremendous asset to our school. Rocky Mountain has experienced a significant amount of change and transition over recent years.  One of the main constants through all of this has been Mr. Horne.  We feel strongly that the continuity of our educators is imperative for the educational and emotional development of our Special Ed students.  It would severely damage the Special Ed Program he has so painstakingly created.
Mr. Horne has helped and influenced countless numbers of students school wide.  He has made changes in students’ lives that will last them a life time. Ask any one of his current or former students.  Of his own volition, Mr. Horne has spent endless hours with our traditional students who struggle, building skills and confidence. We believe that such a vested and impactful teacher should not be taken away from Rocky Mountain Elementary.
Mr. Horne is an integral part of our school. We KNOW that our school’s learning environment will be negatively affected if he leaves Rocky Mountain.

I met with district leadership today to discuss why Mr. Horne must stay at Rocky Mountain. Call the Alpine School District office right now and demand they keep our teachers where they belong.

The momentum behindkeeping Mr. Horne at Rocky Mountain is real and it shows how much this community values our teachers. Now is the time to turn this energy into action by emailing the school board members to demand they keep him here.

My daughter has thrived under his guidance. Moving him would be a huge mistake for this entire community.

Ridiculous decision by the district. He has built something special at Rocky Mountain and it shouldnt be torn apart.

The district just doesnt get it. Teachers like him are rare and you dont just shuffle them around like paper clips.
