Gateway Island, Murfreesboro. . part of the Middle TN Greenway. . is at risk of being shut down indefinitely due to the necessary need of constant repair and use of tax payer money. If you love this little slice of paradise in the middle of this growing city scene, sign this petition and possibly help save not only Murfreesboro beautiful little oasis, but a home for wildlife!
Seeing so many of you come together to protect this island makes me feel like our little patch of green actually stands a chance against the bulldozers. I walk those paths to clear my head and knowing others care just as much is honestly overwhelming.

It is a wonderful, peaceful venue. Our family visits there frequently---at least 2-3 times per month. We would certainly consider it to be a huge loss if Murfreesboro were to close this treasure.

as someone who walks at Gateway Island daily and also brings my grandchild here to see ducks I realize how important safe greenway space is. As a woman who walks by herself at time or with a small dog and who has walked other greenway trails I can say that this is the safest part of the system, wide open space and the woods don't come up right against the trail leaving visibilty next to nothing as at most of the greenway system. Please help save this area, I realize the cost it has incurred, but it is worth the cost.

This place is a lovely place to take pictures, as I photograph many families here. I really hate to see them just let it go.
