The famous Steep Rock island goats will be removed from the island by authorities due to complaints filed by some locals and local cottage owners.
We need to save the goats, since they are not hurting anything and are a great local attraction! Please sign this petition so we can reverse this decision and keep the goats on the island.
The local authorities continue to ignore our pleas while these arrogant cottage owners try to scrub the island of its character. They think they can get away with this quietly if they just wait us out. Do not let them silence us.

The local authorities thought they could quietly ship these goats away while nobody was looking. They clearly underestimated how much this community values our island icons and this massive surge in pressure proves we are not going to let them get away with it.

The bureaucrats in charge think they can quietly kick these goats off the island while we aren't looking. We need to hit one thousand signatures right now to prove to them that this community refuses to let their petty complaints win. Get this link out to everyone you know before they drag those animals away for good.

Anything that gets people out kayaking and canoeing, is a boon to the local and en route communities should be supported by all level of government. The Provincial government agency and the complaining community members should be ashamed of their destructive action.

The goats are a fun addition to a beautiful place. We need to help Peter maneuver through the bureaucratic red tape to allow the goats to continue their work of attracting tourists and boasting the local economy. Save Hopper and Gonzo!

The goats are a lovely attraction. They keep the trails groomed and don’t bother anybody. I love going to the little community along the shore there too. Please allow the goats to continue to graze peacefully on the little island!

The government must be fair in this situation, allow the owner some time to ensure proper permits can be in place! So quick to jump the gun, put this much energy into some of the serious problems Manitoba faces, and leave the goats alone!

We heard about goat island and are planning a family vacation in the middle of August. There are 20 of us coming out and will be staying in campground and some have rented cabins. Had I not heard of goat island,I would have never had any reason to visit.

I’m a cottage owner and support having the goats on the island. The goats are healthy and well cared for. Kids love them and it’s a huge attraction for Steep Rock. Can’t understand why anyone would actually be against this.
