TO SAVE THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS HIKING TRAIL/SNOWMOBILE TRAIL BRIDGE CROSSING OVER THE PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE BETWEEN DONEGAL AND SOMERSET EXITS
The Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail/Snowmobile Trail Bridge over the Pennsylvania Turnpike has been part of the current trail system for more than 30 years and is critical for the trail system to be complete. This bridge has been closed indefinitely due to structural deficiencies resulting in unsafe conditions.
Please support the repair or replacement of this bridge so outdoor enthusiasts may continue to have full use of the trails. The closure of this bridge limits tourism and greatly impacts local businesses and the economy in this region.
This petition will be sent to the DCNR, Governor Rendell, Richard A. Kasunic (Senator), Mike Reese (Representative) and Carl Walker Metzgar (Representative).

I was just looking at the number and realized we actually hit one thousand signatures which is just wild because I honestly thought it would be mostly just my friends who signed this. It is so strange to think about how many people actually care about getting back onto that bridge because I really want to hike that trail again soon.

I just looked at the screen and saw we hit one hundred signatures which is honestly kind of wild because I was just hoping a few neighbors would notice. It feels like people actually want that bridge fixed instead of just ignoring the closure like it is nothing. Seriously thank you for checking this out while I figure out how to get this in front of the right people.

This bridge is a vital link for the whole trail system. Without it the trail is basically cut in half. Fix it ASAP.
Fix the bridge. Stop dragging your feet on this.
Ridiculous that they let it get this bad. Our local economy depends on people being able to use these trails.
NEED THIS BRIDGE OPEN!!!! IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET ACROSS. PLS FIX IT
so many memories on this trail. really miss being able to hike the full distance.

My family has used this trail for years. It is a shame it is closed. Please get this repaired so we can actually use the path again.
