The school board has officially voted to keep Fox Ridge Elementary open. Your persistence ensured that the needs of our students remained the primary focus throughout this process. We will continue to monitor future district planning to ensure this community remains protected.

Final supporters
At the School Board meeting on January 18th a solution to deal with the decrease in student population and class size was proposed. This solution was to close Fox Ridge Elementary School and use the building for the district's Early Childhood Program. This absolutely shocked the families of all the schools in the district.
In the presentation given, they explain that the district will only save $280,000 per year, which to many doesn’t seem worthy of a change of this magnitude. But, that is not even the worst part. Fox Ridge students will be separated over four other elementary schools in the district. These students will be taken away from their relationships with their friends and teachers. The proposal doesn’t account for the social and emotional consequences this plan will have on their students.
This plan was not created with the intention of what is best for the kids, but instead what will save the district money--even the smallest amount. Teachers don't just teach academics. They teach students how to be people. Teachers build connections with students and their families to help them grow as functioning, empathetic individuals. Fox Ridge is an amazing community of supporting teachers, and now it may be dissolved.
Please sign this petition to prevent the dissolution of Fox Ridge Elementary. The proposal is being voted on at the February meeting, so there is a small window of time when you could make a difference in a child's life.

The feedback I have received from families highlights the deep value of the social ties currently fostered at Fox Ridge. I am currently preparing to present this collection of signatures and testimonials to the board members before the final vote occurs.

The momentum surrounding our effort to protect Fox Ridge Elementary continues to grow as we approach one hundred signatures. Please circulate this petition among your neighbors to ensure the school board understands that this proposal lacks broad community support.

Kind of crazy to close a neighborhood school when the District evaluated schools recently and decided to keep Lincoln School. Bad study that failed to explore other options. The attractiveness of a school in a neighborhood can not be understated
Please keep this school open it offers my niece excellerated classes and if it closes she will have to attend a school that does not offer this. My nephew will also be forced to take a 45 minute bus ride alone, he’s only 4! Please please please keep this school open!
Shame on the district for hiding this and trying to push it through in under a month! After months given to other decisions through multiple summits, it is indefensible that they would rush this through to prevent the community from voicing their concerns in a timely manner.
I have a son who currently attends Fox Ridge school. He has been working hard with the transition from another school. He has started to make good friends & is very comfortable with his teacher. Now all of that is up in the air for monetary reasons. This is truly unfortunate.
My son attends kindergarten at Foxridge and it’s important to focus on the children and not on money. Closing this school is a focus on greed and not on children. My son experiences anxiety and it will add to his anxiety to require him to attend 3 schools in 3 years (preschool, Foxridge and then another school).
Fox ridge is an excellent school, it's a waste to just throw away all that potential!
