Help save Crown Valley Elementary!
Crown Valley is a true neighborhood school that has been a respected part of the Laguna Niguel community for almost 50 years. Crown Valley is facing closure to house Community Roots Academy, a charter school currently sharing the Wood Canyon Elementary campus in Aliso Viejo.
Crown Valley is truly a unique and special school environment with a general enrollment of 385 students, including a large DHH and special education population of over 160. The integration of students, in addition to the wonderful and caring staff help make Crown Valley an ideal learning environment. Relocation will be very stressful for all students and families of Crown Valley, even more so for those that benefit from the DHH and special education programs.
In addition to the disruption the students and families currently attending Crown Valley face, all Laguna Niguel residents should consider:
•Increased traffic on Adelanto and adjacent streets. Parking and traffic are very heavy on the streets adjacent to CVE, Community Roots intends to increase enrollment by 300 students!
•The impact to surrounding Laguna Niguel elementary schools, as well future enrollment for Niguel Hills Middle School as more families will consider school of choice participation.
Crown Valley is a charming school with a beautiful central garden courtyard, set to celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. It is truly a special place where children flourish. Let’s come together as parents, neighbors, alumni, and friends to save this jewel in Laguna Niguel. Please sign this petition, and pass it on to anyone who may be interested in supporting CVE. We must act quickly; the CUSD board is set to vote on the fate of CVE on September 9.

CVES serves so many Laguna Niguel residents. It doesn't make sense to allow residents from another city take over this beautiful campus and displace the children of our beautiful Laguna Niguel. Do not allow this to happen.
I taught at this school for 37 straight years. Leave it alone. We love our neighborhood school. It is part of the history of Laguna Niguel because it was the VERY FIRST SCHOOL IN LAGUNA NIGUEL. We love our school. Don't mess with it.
Please keep CVES open! Find another solution. The empty lot on Paseo de Colinas is being used to store cars for the dealership. Boot them out and use that space instead of closing a school that has a large special needs population.
My son has been coming here and has been with the DHH program and he has learned soo much here from learning how to talk to the friendships he has built with the teachers that it would break my heart for this school to close.
We LOVE Crown Valley. This is my daughter's last years but her special needs teachers are absolutely the BEST! Please don't take this away from future generations of special needs children who depend on caring teachers and aides who guide them to meet their full potential!

I went to this elementary school as did five of my other siblings. My parents still live across the street from it. Crown Valley is a staple in the community and would be sad if local students couldn't attend the school in their own neighborhood.
