After exceeding expectations and making it to the quarter final game this fall, the contract wasn’t renewed for Freeman’s head football coach.
We demand answers for this unjust and irrational decision.

I have coached with Ben for the past 3 years and strongly believe that this decision was not made in the best interest of the Freeman community. Ben is a phenomenal coach who truly cares about his athletes and instills valuable life lessons that go far beyond athletics.
My cousins, Jackson and Jordan Grover, adore Coach Cochran. He not only has served as a great coach to them, but also as a teacher, friend, and role model. I hope that justice is served and the truth of who he is, reigns.
I do not know all of the ins and outs of why this decision was made- I just don’t feel like it was handled compassionately. Why was this decision based on a survey of children? This is a man’s livelihood! Why before the banquet? Why wasn’t this discussed instead of what appears to be a reactive decision. Thank you for your listening ear.
It's time our community and the taxpayers make our administrators and school board be accountable to all of us and not just do whatever they want without regards to the people they work for!
How does an outstanding Coach and mentor not get his contract renewed for another year after taking Freeman on another run at the state championship for a third year in a row??

I met Ben when he was leading Rodgers football and was so impressed with the young men he was developing who came from very challenging home lives. So disappointed with this decision, Freeman's children lose.
