We, the undersigned members of the Williams High School Varsity Volleyball Team, along with our supporters, are writing this letter to express our deep concern, disappointment, and frustration regarding the forced resignation of our head coach, Coach Darren Robinson.
Coach Robinson has been a source of guidance, discipline, support, and pride for our team and school community. His commitment to our development as athletes and people has never wavered. Last season, he stood up for us when another member of the coaching staff-Kearra Gurule, the JV coach-made demeaning and inappropriate comments about our team, calling us "pathetic," saying she was "embarrassed to be seen with us," and telling some of us that she doesn't like the team even after we expressed how much we love being a part of it. These comments were not only hurtful, but they created a hostile environment.
Coach Robinson did what any responsible leader would do-he confronted the situation directly and professionally. In response, rather than addressing the harmful behavior, the administration allowed the narrative to be twisted and ultimately forced out a coach who was simply standing up for his players. This is not only unfair-it is damaging to our team and sends the wrong message to student-athletes about speaking up and protecting one another.
We, the Williams High School volleyball community, advocate for the reinstatement of Coach Darren Robinson, who was unfairly asked to resign after standing up for his team. Please sign this petition to support a fair review and demand accountability. Together, we can strive together for a fair outcome, ensuring our students continue to benefit from his exemplary guidance and leadership.

I've only known Mr. Robinson for only 2 years but throughout those 2 years i had learned that Mr. Robinson cares about his students and his volleyball team deeply. Since my Freshman year of Highschool to my Sophomore year I had been to every single home game I could’ve possibly attended with my best friend. Those 2 years i had seen nothing but professionalism from Mr. Robinson, he wishes nothing but the best for his girls. Although Ive never passed any of his classes which was my fault, he gave me plenty of chances to make up for it and even offered me advice and encouragement. It baffles me that Mr. Robinson will be forced to resign all because he had stood up for his team.
Robinson is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. Batching him coach is something special; it’s where you truly see his heart. He brings people together, makes everyone feel seen, and believes in every student and athlete, even when they don’t believe in themselves
Didn’t have Robinson as a coach but one of the best math teachers I’ve ever had and genuinely a great person to have in your corner.
Mr. Robinson has been an amazing COACH. His passion for sports go along with the dedication to his players. He respects and encourages his players. Mr. Robinson should keep being the VOLLEYBALL COACH, BASKETBALL AND GOLF. My respects to coaches like him with such as great positivity towards his players.
This isn’t right. He is such a great coach and a man with the upmost integrity. He shouldn’t be punished because of another coaches unprofessional behavior!!
Coach Robinson is a true gem at Williams High. He instilled discipline and true dedication into my teammates and I when we were under his leadership. It saddens me to see such an amazing coach and stand out teacher be mistreated, he truly doesn’t deserve that. He is the type of teacher that radiates true passion for his profession, and goes above and beyond to help his student athletes succeed. Something must be done to correct this situation. Williams admin please stand up for what’s right and start appreciating those teachers who TRULY care about their students well being and are willing to protect them. More teachers like Mr. Robinson are needed to ensure our youth has the necessary skills to be successful post graduation. Students need to be shown compassion if you expect them to respect you as admin. I have heard enough stories of teachers using degrading language against our students throughout the years and enough is enough. By remaining quiet and not taking action to correct the forced resignation you are only enabling the behavior and showing our community you are complicit. Don’t send the wrong message to the community/parents/students who are watching this all unfold.

It’s a shame that the Principal swept it under the rug and the Superintendent let it happened. He fired Coach Robinson for demanding an investigation. Both said they would investigate, neither even spoke to the team to see what Coach G’s words had affected them. Shame on them.
