The volume of support has provided the leverage needed to request a formal meeting with the County Council transportation department. I am currently drafting a letter to the school board to ensure they understand the scale of opposition regarding this budget cut.

the safety of children should never be the subject of funding cuts. Please reconsider your decision. I speak as one whose child was pulled back by the lollipop lady as he was distracted and stepped in front of a car.
The lollipop lady is absolutely necessary for the safety of my children getting to and from school. There is not a traffic light to stop crazy drivers, and there are many along Wertheim Way, she is the only means to slow them down.
The crossing is very dangerous at the best of times. I strongly believe that if we lost the lollypop lady, our and our children's lives will be in danger and there will be a serious accident before long. Don't let it get this far. I personally avoided 2 accidents so far due to cars not stopping and been witness to one.
I have been about to cross when CJ has nearly been knocked down nevermind the children. Surely there must be something else to cut. I am sure in the grand scheme of things cutting our lollipop lady is hardly going to make a massive difference to the budget.
As a police officer I have seen first hand what cars can do to children at unmanned school crossings, cj keeps our children safe and does an excellent job in all weathers
I have personally seen this Lovely loly pop lady for years now, same as every day, caring, cautious and with a big smile
Please do not do away with our lollypop ladies. They do a fantastic job in keeping our youngsters safe on the roads.

I realise that this is not the on,y County Council seeking to transfer costs for crossing patrols to schools but schools need their monies to pay for children's education NOT for,road safety measures which are council's responsibility. Please don't take this action.
