Please do not do away with our lollypop ladies. They do a fantastic job in keeping our youngsters safe on the roads.

I realise that this is not the on,y County Council seeking to transfer costs for crossing patrols to schools but schools need their monies to pay for children's education NOT for, road safety measures which are council's responsibility. Please don't take this action.

the safety of children should never be the subject of funding cuts. Please reconsider your decision. I speak as one whose child was pulled back by the lollipop lady as he was distracted and stepped in front of a car.

The lollipop lady is absolutely necessary for the safety of my children getting to and from school. There is not a traffic light to stop crazy drivers, and there are many along Wertheim Way, she is the only means to slow them down.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, consider very carefully before terminating the jobs of the lollipop personnel. I am a Granny of a little boy who has just commenced school at Stukeley Meadows Primary and on taking him there I would have found it extremely difficult to cross Wertheim Way without the assistance of our safe crossing, thanks to the lollipop lady. While waiting for a lull in the busy traffic, tightly holding the hand of an excited little boy who wants to get to school could prove tricky and extremely stressful for both parties. Bearing in mind there would be many parents and children in the same position. I myself was run over in London when leaving school at the age of 8 by placing my foot off the curb while waving to a friend and not concentrating just as a bus pulled over. By asking schools to pay £3,500 annually to cover Council’s costs for this job, in order that the Council might save money and, at the same time compromising the safety of children, is not cost effective. Should the unimaginable happen and a child or parent get run over the Council would then have to pay for National Health services – an expensive exercise. With Tesco adjacent to the school there is continuous traffic not forgetting the large food container lorries which need access, sometimes coinciding with school entry and departure. I appreciate trying to save money from the Council’s budget must be a daunting job BUT PLEASE, not at the sake of potential loss of life or limb of a child.

The crossing is very dangerous at the best of times. I strongly believe that if we lost the lollypop lady, our and our children's lives will be in danger and there will be a serious accident before long. Don't let it get this far. I personally avoided 2 accidents so far due to cars not stopping and been witness to one.

Absolutely ridiculous to think of removing CJ from this valuable job. Surely the council will see sense. Let's not wait until the first injury (or worse) to prove why CJ is essential.

CJ does an amazing job and is essential for the safety of our children on the crossing to and from school. It would be dangerous and chaotic without her there. I can't believe there is even a possibility that the council would put our children at risk every school day, which would certainly be the case if CJ wasn't there.

Every school where there are very young children should have a lollipop person and an enforced 20 mph zone. Please do not endanger the lives of precious children for the sake of saving a few quid.

Surely there are cuts to be made on carpets, curtains and desks that do not require replacing in the council offices (and provide no safety or service to the tax payers!) for the price of a lollipop lady who provides a valuable service proving safety for children! Fully support the maintains and reinstatement of lollipop ladies and gentlemen with the standard of driving and lack of road sense of a few!!!!

Please save the lollipop lady. Jeapordising children's safety to save a few pounds is disgraceful yet typical of the current governments priorities!

This area is always busy at school times with cars (parked and moving) and people. CJ is essential in helping to keep some sort of order and safety

Its essential to have CJ at the crossing and would be unsafe for children if this budget cut goes ahead.
