This petition was created to give Sampson county citizens a voice and help unite us in our attempt to seek better representation and transparency from our elected leaders. Many citizens were blindsided by the solid waste availability fee, AKA “trash tax”. The goal is to encourage everyone to exercise their right to free speech pertaining to issues that affect us as taxpaying citizens. More importantly, refuse to participate in the “trash tax”. How many of the Sampson County Commissioners are going to have to pay $80.00 as well? Are THEY happy about it?
Our taxes are already paid by property tax. The trash tax is double billing! Additionally, You can’t charge some residents and not others in the same county. It’s discrimination!
Disgraceful how politicians take advantage of their power ! Top to bottom!
I've tried to take my trash to the Roseboro HWY 24 location, to be told to TAKE IT YO THE TOP,. I've tried pulling my hog trailer of trash with My Jeep , my truck, my WRECKER!, it's to mushy, wet , slippery.. I was sliding , so I brought it home to burn it. My trailer, vehicles smell like death for over a Month and my dogs and cats got sick being around it, my personal vehicles smelled and it got in my clothes on the way to work everyday until it finally disapated,even after large bottlesof disinfectant sprayed underneath and pressure washed! Oh and even a few bags in trunk of car and they want me to go to the top! They have dumpsters at the entrance, make their trucks take it to the top. Oh, they Do! It just depends WHICH EVER GUY IS AT ENTRANCE THAT DAY!! (there is a Bad Apple there) PAYING THEM TO POISON ME IS A FRKN NO!!
Always more money for seniors to pay

I cant breathe from all the methane gas emitted from this toxic dump, now we know from DEQ the counties water is contaminated with cancer causing (PFAS) polyfluoroalkyl. Now you want me to pay a TRASH Tax. My health and community has suffered enough. This is profit over people!
