Our Town of Seekonk is home to thousands of Middle Class Americans just trying to provide a good quality of life for our families. Sadly, year after year our town government increases our property taxes among others at higher and higher rates. This year, while so many of our neighbors are already struggling to pay the bills - our town decided to increase our taxes at a higher rate than ever while we receive nothing in return...We can not accept this because they'll only continue the trend next year. We are retired and on fixed incomes. No sooner than we get a cost of living increase in our Social Security it is eaten up by medical insurance and beyond! Now this! This is unacceptable, especially in these times!
I am newly moving to town, these tax rate increases have me thinking of cancelling the real estate transaction. I will be paying extremely high taxes, paying for trash and bags for trash. What exactly is the tax increase for, what will my family (no school use) be getting with these increases?
My taxes have gone up $2000 in 10 years that is absolutely rediculous. my previous house i lived for 5 years and it had only gone up $150 in that time frame. More development s in town why the need for higher taxes!!! I got laid off due to COVID-19.
Seekonk resident my entire life now getting close to moving due to my already 11k a year taxes also own a business in town
The new property tax rate is completely excessive. My property is on Lincoln street and I am surrounded by all of the new developments. My quality of life has diminished because of this, yet I am paying more and more in taxes
I cannot believe that only 165 residents have signed this petition. Amazing!!!
I just moved into Seekonk last month. As a senior on a fixed income , any new taxes will be a burden.

Exactly what do our taxes pay for? Can it be posted somewhere. We pay for our trash pickup and blue bags to put the trash in.
