POOL 4 OUR SCHOOLS

Summer swimming leagues remind the swim parents why we need a competition pool in the Williamson and Travis County area. The Lee Jamail Swim Center at UT provides us some avenue of hosting events, however, the demand has become so large, they have been turning away others from hosting meets there.

Currently we have a total of 38 high schools in the Austin Metro area. None of which has a competition pool. In contrast, almost every school and middle school in Conroe ISD has a swimming pool. Simply put, we NEED a competition pool for our 4000+ Swimmers, Divers and Water Polo players in the Austin metro area. It is time we get a pool!

Why do our businesses need this pool? Because it brings in incredible amount of revenue to hotels, restaurants, and local retail stores. Swim, Dive and Water Polo parents who travel to meets spend on average over $500 per swim meet at local businesses. A competition pool brings in millions in revenue each year to the local community.

Our kids deserve a pool, our businesses deserve a pool and our community deserves a pool! Please sign this petition if you agree. After you sign... please like our Facebook page as well. RRISD Natatorium. Please share this on Facebook and Twitter!

We have been all over Texas & every ISD BUT Austin or Round Rock has an natatorium! Even small ISD do. UT has become not as easily accessible for meets anymore. They are expensive!! I would rather put my money into Round Rock! !

even though my kids are all grown up and out of the house, we need this. Keep our money in Round Rock. I easily would drop $1000 over a weekend traveling out of town to a swim meet.

it's a no brainer - swimming produces more collegiate athletes without any concussions; a pool can be used for numerous competitive events : swimming, diving, water polo, synchronized swimming, plus physical therapy and exercise for ALL ages. How many things can you do with a football stadium?

We have many talented, hard working swimmers in our district. Most are outstanding students as well. They deserve a suitable facility and should not have to swim outdoors in near freezing temperatures all winter.

Swimming is a life sport so having a pool where competitions can be held in the Austin area makes complete sense. If school districts can spend money on football stadiums and basketball gyms please think of the swimmers who practice so hard but need a decent place to do it.

So sad we won't be at UT this year for all the kids to experience swimming in a true competition pool. Instead our Champs meet will be jam packed over two days at a neighborhood pool that has graciously offered to host.
