Let RRISD know that the District needs a pool of its own!

Members of your community have been working hard to bring a Natatorium to the District, but it can only happen with your help, so let your voice be heard by signing this petition today! You're welcome to indicate why having a pool in the District is needed and long overdue, and whether you're a registered Williamson County voter, immediately below your signature in the Comments box, or in the Discussion section.

A Citizens Bond Committee will make recommendations to the Round Rock Independent School District Board by Feb 12, 2014. The Board then will recommend whether to call for a May, 2014 bond election, deciding on specific proposals, which could include a Natatorium, by Feb 28th.

I'm a swimmer myself on the RRHS and I would greatly appreciate an actual natatoriumrather than just swimming at our pool for every meet and having no stands and not having a locker room to accommodate the swimmers at the end of the meet.

No dearth of need; if we can fund multi-million dollar football stadiums I don't see why a Natatorium isn't feasible as well. The economics for a natatorium are a hell of a lot better than a football stadium when you consider all of the swim teams that are willing to rent for meets.

This area likes to tout itself on being a "sports capital". How is that possible with no decent swim facility for the huge number of swimmers in the area. This recent weather only points up how much such a facility is needed. Who knows---we may have a future Olympian in our midst.

Without the UT Swim Center, we don't have a single indoor pool in Round Rock, Cedar Park or Austin that is capable of handling the parking, concessions or facilities necessary to run a district meet. We have a duty to provide appropriate, functional, and safe facilities for students.

In a town with so many great swimming schools, Austin/Round Rock only has one real competition pool. RRISD has a great opportunity to build a site that can bring Round Rock up with Houston, San Antonio and Dallas

My child swam year-round during middle school years and we traveled all over Texas to other ISD's natatoriums. It's time for RRISD to buckle down and provide a great facility like Belton, Northside and Rockwall ISD's have so we can keep our tourism dollars local.

Your votes count... 5 open seats on the RRISD board coming up. Only Two board members were supportive, Terri Romere, and Pauline Law. I know Barbara Beto will be running for one of the open board positions. She is NOT supportive and should not be voted in.
