PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION REQUESTING THAT THE CITY MAKE THIS INTERSECTION A PRIORITY AND INSTALL TRAFFIC LIGHTS AT THE INTERSSECTION OF RIDEAU AND BAY STREETS. 

I just saw another car accident at the intersection of Rideau and Bay street recently. This intersection is a busy and dangerous one. Drivers who come up Bay street have to inch their way into traffic in order to have sufficient visibility to merge onto Rideau street (heading north as most of the traffic does in the afternoon). Without traffic lights or a 4-way stop sign there is little to help with this intersection of chaos. I have a 7 year-old and we have to cross Rideau street on foot every day as we walk to and from school. There are no stop signs on Rideau and this is a challenge for us every day and I often see cars rushing up Bay street eager to merge onto busy Rideau without fully checking for pedestrians. Please make our streets safer by adding more than "traffic calming measures" as this intersection requires more than merely calming. We need traffic lights (or at the very least 4-way stop signs). I work in a Neuropsychology office and spend most of my time assessing brain injuries associated with accidents. I see so many lives destroyed by accidents while at work and am especially saddened when these accidents are preventable. Please take the measures necessary to prevent accidents at Rideau and Bay street.
