Protest Petition against Rezoning #2017-112, 28-acre property located off South Tryon Street, east of Youngblood and West of Birnamwood Lane.
We, the undersigned property owners, do hereby protest the rezoning from the R-3 zoning district to the NS zoning, on the described property, to wit.
We, the undersigned, realize that this petition of protest must be submitted to the office of the City Clerk regarding this rezoning application.
Further, we realize that this Petition is in opposition to this rezoning application. This may be filed pursuant to G. S. 160A-385(a)(2) and shall be subject to the rules contained therein.
We, the undersigned, are owners of real property located within the statutory area of notification related to the area for which a rezoning is sought, whereby, our signatures in order for this Protest Petition to be valid.
We, the undersigned owners of property as defined under G.S. 160A-385(a)(2) oppose the request zoning changes as it will impact and further burden traffic congestion within this corridor, and increase already overcrowded school population creating security issues for current residents.

I met with city planning staff today to deliver our initial paperwork. They are now officially processing our protest but we need to keep the pressure on our district representative through phone calls and emails.

Steele Creek could benefit more from other options, like Senior Housing with a rehab facility. No more apartments or drive thru fast food.
The city of Charlotte is negligent in its ability to provide proper infrastructure to meet the demands of rapid growth. No way they should allow high density housing at this intersection because the current roadways aren’t ample to support the current population boom.
Please consider the residents that are already living in Steele Creek - schools are already overcrowded and traffic is horrendous as it is. No more expansion without infrastructure improvements!
It took me 1 hour and 30 minutes to get home from Target today because of traffic. My 5 and 7 year old were hungry, tired and had to used the bathroom and we were not moving. Please put yourself in my shoes for a minute and tell me, if this is fair. This traffic is not healthy for anyone. Please stop building more houses on a 2 street roads. Please, please!
This insanity needs to stop!! This area cannot handle anymore growth!! Please reconsider this. My 80 year old parents can't get out of their driveway now. If you add more traffic, it will be even a bigger nightmare!!

We can’t aloud to have 280 apartments with no owners in front of our house. The storm waters are collapsing and our creek is taking different routes. Please help us change this. Let’s change the 280 plus apts and a drive thru with a nice house complex with real ownership!!!! The traffic is outstanding right now can you imagine it with 300 plus people?
