Petition Summary: Restore Resident-Friendly Access and Improve Facilities at Embassy Gardens Sky Pool Orangery

We, the residents of Embassy Gardens, are increasingly concerned about recent changes to the Sky Pool Orangery’s operating hours, food and drink offering, pricing, and overall resident experience. These issues have significantly reduced the value, enjoyment, and practicality of one of Embassy Gardens’ key premium amenities.

Key Resident Concerns

1. Reduced Opening Hours

- The Orangery currently closes at 9:00 PM, whereas residents strongly feel it should remain open until at least 10:00 PM, as it previously did.

- Earlier closing times reduce accessibility for working professionals who rely on evening hours to enjoy the facility after work.

1. Limited Food Menu and Lack of Variety

- The current menu is too limited and does not meet resident expectations for a premium leisure venue.

- There is a notable lack of popular casual dining options such as:

- Burgers

- Pizzas

- Fries

- Broader salad options

- Poolside snacks

- Family-friendly and children’s menu options are severely lacking.

- Dessert offerings are minimal or insufficient, reducing the overall dining experience for residents and families.

- Healthier options such as smoothies and healthy bowls as breakfast options should also be included.

1. Inadequate Drinks and Wine Selection

- The current drinks and wine list lacks variety and does not cater to a broad range of resident preferences.

- A wider selection of wines, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and casual refreshments is needed.

1. Excessive Pricing

- Drinks and wine prices are considered disproportionately high for residents.

- The additional 12.5% service charge further compounds concerns around affordability and value.

- Residents believe pricing should better reflect the fact that the Orangery is a resident-focused amenity within a private development.

1. Lack of Entertainment and Atmosphere

- The Orangery currently lacks entertainment, events, or engaging social experiences that would make it a vibrant communal hub.

- Residents would welcome:

- Live music

- DJ evenings

- Family-friendly events

- Seasonal programming

- Without these enhancements, the venue feels underutilized and less aligned with luxury living standards.

1. Declining Value of a Premium Resident Amenity

- Embassy Gardens is marketed as a luxury development with exceptional communal spaces.

- The current limitations in service, food quality, pricing, and entertainment diminish the lifestyle value residents were promised.

- The Orangery should reflect the premium expectations associated with Embassy Gardens living.

Our Requests

We respectfully call for:

- Extension of Orangery closing hours to 10:00 PM daily

- Improved Sunday access and later food service

- A significantly enhanced menu including burgers, pizzas, children’s meals, desserts, and broader casual dining options

- Expanded drinks and wine selection

- Fairer resident-focused pricing and review of the 12.5% service charge

- Introduction of regular entertainment and social programming

- Greater collaboration with residents when making operational decisions that affect amenity access

Conclusion

The Sky Pool Orangery should be an accessible, vibrant, and enjoyable resident destination that enhances community life at Embassy Gardens. Residents deserve facilities that reflect the premium lifestyle, convenience, and quality they were promised.

We urge management to review these concerns carefully and work collaboratively with residents to restore the Orangery as a true flagship amenity for the Embassy Gardens community.

Key issue for me is opening hours. 10pm should be the default in the summer and in winter no earlier than 6pm closing otherwise, as has been pointed out, in winter months it’s effectively impossible for working people to use the facility.

The new proposal is a regressive step and an inferior offering to the service we enjoyed in previous years. Whilst accepting the Skypool - essentially due to very poor initial planning - presents a difficult environment for any hospitality / F&B provider, this offering is particularly disappointing.

Fries - good for pool side & kids. Vegetarian / healthy food on half the menu. Weekend brunch menu til 2pm. Summer Opening hours for Orangery 10:30pm - or at least Thurs-Sat 10:30pm / Sun-Wed 9:30pm … or at least those suggested 10:30/9:30 hours during June-August (close earlier on rainy quiet days).

This is not what we wanted at all prices are really high. This needs to be somewhere that is affordable and we can all enjoy for the basic common sense that we’re already paying a premium to live here and these things not should not be hijacking ask for more money let on the service charges

Agreed on all points. I would also add more refreshing adult non-alcoholic options, like virgin strawbertty mojitos or sober palomos - not just sodas or juice. Thank you.

Would also suggest they review their towel policy for residents. Given we are paying a significant service charge to maintain I would think that would warrant some leniency.

Administration needs to reconsider the new rules, this is not acceptable
