We the undersigned taxpayers, residents of Durham, and/or neighbors, are extremely concerned about the accelerated deterioration of the Mill Pond. We urge the town of Durham to do a drawdown of the Pond after the first hard freeze in the fall of 2011. We also urge the Town to institute a routine maintenance program for this same purpose, as is done in other NH towns with Ponds as recommended by DES to control aquatic species, such as Mill Pond Lake Potanipo, in an effort to preserve this historic , recreational, communal, and irreplaceable natural resource.
