The members of Elizabeth FD are asking the union to join us in solidarity. In light of the rollback of COVID 19 restrictions and policies, the new stance on testing we see all across the State of NJ, we ask that the Fireman & Officers unions request a full stop of COVID 19 testing and the mandate requiring vaccination for promotion.

The CDC guidelines were followed at the start of the pandemic but now that the guidelines have been revised to a more relaxed protocol the city chooses to maintain a different protocol. The city now chooses NOT to follow CDC guidelines.

Governor Murphy has signed off and all teachers in NJ are no longer required to test. Also kids and teachers are not required to mask.

EMS has removed the temporary measure and has declared there is no longer any emergency.

We ask that you look at the signatures to this petition and move forward by writing a letter to the City and simply request a stand down of the testing and the mandate.

We understand that timing is important and it may be better to make this request after the contract is done. We leave that to your discretion.

Lastly we want to point out that since the start we have done what we were told and for almost a year we have tested regularly and after all that barely but a few times did members show a positive result.
