I am asking for the Citizens of the City of Steubenville to sign this petition in support of reopening the Pleasant Heights Fire Station that closed May 8, 2013 since the Fire Department received the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response FEMA Grant, http://www.heraldstaronline.com/page/content.detail/id/604457/New-Firefighters-Take-Oath.html?nav=5010
This station is strategically positioned to provide for quicker emergency response to Pleasant Heights, Labelle View and the Hollywood subdivisions.
This petition would be submitted to city Council before the next Safety Committee meeting.

Seeing the movement behind this campaign is exhausting but necessary given the stakes. I am grateful to see people paying attention to the safety of our neighborhoods. We are moving forward despite the obstacles.

Letting this building sit empty is a mistake for many reasons, but saving lifes is the best reason. Two have been lost already this year and seconds make all the difference.
That's where the majority of fires have been since it's been closed and people have lost their lives.

This fire house needs to reopen in the best interests of the citizens of steubenville
It would be better for the whole city of Steubenville if it were open.

The closing of this station on average has added at least a two minute delay in rendering aid to the good citizens in these areas. Please remove this handicap and reopen the station!
