What's the point in having speed humps that only affect certain vehicles? 4x4s, vans, lorries can span the humps so do not reduce their speed. Also, who thought putting traffic calming chicanes on blind corners was a good idea!
The traffic calming in rampton is more dangerous than without it, does not give enough time to slow in a 30mph, or 20mph for that, on a blind bend with unknown oncoming traffic, you need to do near enough an emergency stop.
These speed humps are far to high and you have to go over them at 5mph so they don't damage your car tyres.People living on the road have complained of their homes vibrating and the noise keeps them awake at night.
These speed retarders are way over the top, considering there is all ready traffic calming measures each end of the village, plus they are not suitable for a 30mph speed limit, they are car park speed humps & unsuitable for public highway.
Speed bumps are often necessary, but residents should be consulted before they are installed outside their house as they do have a huge impact on them with noise etc. These speed bumps are impacting on the residents because of the noise and also vibration caused by heavy vehicles.
I damaged a tyre on my car as I couldn’t see these speed bumps in the dark, which compromised my safety on the road. The speed bumps are too high and i don’t have a 4WD! These speed bumps are damaging my car!!!!!!!
Speed bumps are a retrograde step and should be outlawed.

I have just spent £340 on a pair of new front tyres and a wheel alignment following a rapid deflation of a front tyre just after crossing these bumps at around 25 mph. What are my chances of getting compensation from the council or highways department, do you think?
