Petition of Concern – Scotgate Ridge Residents
Scotgate Road, Honley, Holmfirth

This petition represents the collective voice of the residents living on the Scotgate Ridge housing development.

Numerous concerns have been raised regarding the poor maintenance and overall appearance of the public spaces within the development. Despite reassurances from both David Wilson Homes (DWH) and Barratt Homes that FirstPort would assume responsibility for the grounds maintenance, no formal communication has been received to date. As a result, the communal areas have become untidy and poorly maintained.

To our understanding, there are currently no active or enforceable grounds maintenance contracts in place. In light of this, and following ongoing dissatisfaction, we the residents of Scotgate Ridge formally request the removal of any authority or responsibility held by DWH, Barratt Homes, or FirstPort over the management of the development’s public spaces.

Moving forward, the Scotgate Ridge Residents will take collective responsibility for appointing a new, suitably qualified grounds management company to ensure our community spaces are properly maintained.

First Port have a horrendous reputation and are known to massively inflate management fees. They are also subject to several parliamentary scrutiny panels of late due to questionable practices. We do not want them looking after Scotgate Ridge.

I agree. DWH and Barratt appear to have abandoned the public spaces whilst the assigned mgmt company are either unaware of their responsibilities or appear to be actively ignoring them.

I agree...we don't appear to have much control over this matter. As residents we should decide who maintains our green spaces.
