The adoption of Technology Drive, Edison Place and Butterfield Gardens away from private companies
We the undersigned are calling on both Warwickshire County Council and Rugby Borough Council to fully 'adopt' the area of Technology Drive, Brownsover along with the estates of Edison Place and Butterfield Gardens and take them fully away from private housing associations like St. Modwens.
For too long their has been confusion about who controls what in terms of upkeep, rent and maintenance as well as who exactly deals with the issues of litter around these estates. This is inspite of the sterling efforts of local redisents to keep the area clean and tidy. We urge you to put the wheels in motion so that this area be fully adopted so that the residents there have increased peace of mind.

I am truly overwhelmed by the momentum this is gathering. Seeing so many people recognize the struggle we face with these estates confirms that this is not just my own frustration. All of this belongs to you because you are the ones pushing for the change our neighborhood deserves.

St Modwen = Property DEVELOPER. Trinity Estates = Property MANAGEMENT. RBC and WCC CANNOT ADOPT the development. THEY HAVE NO LEGAL RIGHT TO.
For 5 years as a local representative, I have struggled to get both St. Modwen and Trinity Estates to act swiftly on behalf of residents. These areas must be adopted by both WCC and RBC now.
Clearly, the above author is rattled by this petition and has taken it upon himself to add comments which are skewered towards his own agenda. The key points are these: 1. Adopting roads is at the behest of Warwickshire County Council. This claim that developers like St Modwen and Trinity are 'Masters of Councils' and their Planning Departments is misleading and reveals the authors preference for private sector profit over public sector accountability. 2. If the roads/estates are adopted then RBC will cut the grass and maintain the cleanliness and appearence of the area. WCC will, amongst other things, prevent the private parking companies fining residents as they currently do. Councils will consult with communities to come up with solutions that don't mean making a private profit. I'm just delighted the writer has had such positive experiences with developers leaping to correct faults. Sadly, this isn't the experience of residents across Edison Place, Technology Drive and Butterfield Gardens recently. Frankly, I find it utterly abhorrent that council services are written about in this way. This person aims to represent a ward on RBC as an elected official but he has shown by his comments on this forum he has no respect either for officers, the council or the people who are struggling to get by. It's not on. Wanted a good debate, guess I won't get one. Which is sad tbh.
The community and Rugby as a whole will benefit from this...

Half or more than half of the new build, some almost ten years old have not been adopted in Rugby. The tory councilors favour big money to their constituents.
