- air pollution from vehicles speeding up and slowing down
- damage to vehicles
- excessive noise and disturbance to local residents
- pain/discomfort to drivers & passengers, particularly those who suffer from medical conditions
- causes delays / damage to emergency vehicles
- hazard issue to motorcyclists due to bump positions
- lack of visibility on approach
The road safety audit advised against these bumps due to the location being a hazard and relocation or removal was suggested.

Either scrape my car, or eventually will damage wheels/suspension. More dangerous vehicles such as lorries and vans still speed. I have been overtaken by a large van whilst negotiating the bumps. They are not safe.
Awful things... if your gonna put speed bumps down do them properly and not so that they damage your car! My dad's just had a shoulder operation and going over them caused him alot of pain! Useless
I damaged a tyre on my car as I couldn’t see these speed bumps in the dark, which compromised my safety on the road. The speed bumps are too high and i don’t have a 4WD! These speed bumps are damaging my car!!!!!!!
I struggle to get over these bumps in my Fiat 500. There is no sign of warning coming from Somersham and the posts are so muddy that they are not visible so at night they can catch you by suprise. Can we not have rumble strips instead that would slow even big cars and the lorries?
A previous professional audit judged the hump at Earith end of the scheme to be badly positioned, not sufficiently visible and potentially dangerous, particularly for motorcylists. Based on this information, the scheme should never have been reinstated.
These humps are a vicious menace which damage my car each time I have to cross them
My husband cannot go along there easily as it is too uncomfortable.

We need to remove these pollution generating obstacles if we are serious about improving the quality of air in our locality. The cleanest, safest and most economical way to drive is in a high gear at a constant speed and throttle setting. Speed humps run contrary to all these factors.
